National Star launched its first education provision at Mamhilad, Torfaen, in September 2016. It is designed for young people with complex and multiple learning and physical disabilities, offering a sensory-based curriculum and a high level of care and support.

Our curriculum is individualised to each learner, focusing on developing independence, life skills, communication / social skills and preparing for life after college. Individualised programmes can include creative arts (art, music, IT, photography and multimedia), horticulture, cooking, sensory stories and leisure and accredited qualifications.

Welsh language and culture form a key part of the programme and include literacy, numeracy and IT.

Everyone has different abilities and requirements, and we will work with you to create programmes that meet your needs and goals. Our experienced team of staff will support you every step of the way to develop the skills and interests that are important to you. Your dedicated tutor will be on hand to ensure that you are able to get the very best out of life at college.

Our environment promotes interest-led learning, sensory approaches and specialised therapeutic support, ensuring individual needs are fully met.

National Star at Mamhilad recognises that the key to enable successful transition into adult life is imperative to have relationships with parents, carers, guardians and statutory organisations, whilst always promoting a person-centred approach.

The facilities on offer at Mamhilad include:

County in the Community was established September 2013 when Newport County AFC gained football league status. In June 2015 County in the Community became registered as a charity. We use the power of sport, education and training to engage with all members of the community living across South East Wales, regardless of age, ethnicity, physical ability or economic status. National Star launched its first education provision at Mamhilad, Torfaen, in September 2016. It is designed for young people with complex and multiple learning and physical disabilities, offering a sensory-based curriculum and a high level of care and support.

Our curriculum is individualised to each learner, focusing on developing independence, life skills, communication / social skills and preparing for life after college. Individualised programmes can include creative arts (art, music, IT, photography and multimedia), horticulture, cooking, sensory stories and leisure and accredited qualifications.

Welsh language and culture form a key part of the programme and include literacy, numeracy and IT.

Everyone has different abilities and requirements, and we will work with you to create programmes that meet your needs and goals. Our experienced team of staff will support you every step of the way to develop the skills and interests that are important to you. Your dedicated tutor will be on hand to ensure that you are able to get the very best out of life at college.

Our environment promotes interest-led learning, sensory approaches and specialised therapeutic support, ensuring individual needs are fully met.

National Star at Mamhilad recognises that the key to enable successful transition into adult life is imperative to have relationships with parents, carers, guardians and statutory organisations, whilst always promoting a person-centred approach.

County in the Community was established September 2013 when Newport County AFC gained football league status. In June 2015 County in the Community became registered as a charity.
