Mountain Movers Charity, Mrs Erika Lye, Trustee and Chair, contact@mountainmoverseducation.uk

Mountain Movers is an ALN friendly educational community providing opportunities to families electively home educating in particular but not exclusively children with a disability. We aim to be inclusive of all needs and
abilities, with a goal to provide support and sessions designed for siblings of children with disability as well.

We are run by experienced home educators who are or have home educated a child with a disability. Our aim is to provide structured learning opportunities, inclusive sports and arts provisions as well as being a place of friendship, support and advocacy.

We hold a number of different sessions per week at different venues in the South Wales area of the UK. As a registered ASDAN centre, we offer ASDAN courses to all UK home educators.

We hope to reduce social isolation of both children and their families by providing a regular safe and confidential setting to facilitate the development of social skills as well as providing support, advice and signposting to
additional services.

We aspire to improve the skills and knowledge of parent/carers who have taken responsibility to provide the education for their children by providing access to training, advice and support so they are better equipped to educate their children in a rounded and informed manner.

We hope through the sharing of educational resources and the facilitation of educational opportunities and training, to reduce poverty and ease the financial burden faced by electively home educating families.
