Welsh Government – Autistic Spectrum Disorder – Interim Delivery Plan 2015 – 2016

This plan outlines how much we have achieved and continue to support people with autism.

The interim delivery plan sets out the actions we will be taking  in 2015 – 2016.

2015 Summary

In partnership with the Welsh Local Government Association, we have asked people with autism and their parents and carers about their experiences in accessing services and support.

This feedback has helped us identify the gaps in current provision and to highlight where unmet needs should be addressed.

We have also found that more needs to be done to:

  • improve diagnostic services,
  • provide support for emotional/behavioural issues,
  • address specific ASD issues and to
  • improve life skills  – including better access, and  social and leisure activities in local communities.

We will use the information to further develop the action plan – with a consultation to follow in 2016.
