Occupational Therapist – Integrated Autism Service (Cardiff & Vale UHB)

Cardiff and Vale UHB is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.


This post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly specialist occupational therapist (Band 7) to join the Integrated Autism Service. This all age service aims to offer assessment, liaison, support, offer intervention and consultation to service users and involved agencies.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to service improvements, changes in practice, products and systems and to implement research and clinical audit skills. The post holder can expect support and supervision from the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead for Mental Health.

The postholder will be expected to have extensive skills, knowledge and experience working with adults and children with ASD and their families. It is desirable that the postholder has an understanding or post-graduate training in sensory approaches to assessment and intervention.

Post graduate education, research and evidence based practice are a priority for the Occupational Therapy services. The post holder is expected to develop a credible and professional contribution to the organisation by engaging in personal development planning and continuing professional development. The postholder will be managed operationally within the Integrated Autism Service but will be professionally accountable to the Occupational Therapy service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role
